Vegan Cookies!

Posted on

Now that I’ve caught your attention let me tell you about this great little company that I recently discovered and I’m excited to share with you! Ope’s cookies!

They are a small business committed to making vegan products without animal products or by-products, trans fats, chemicals, or refined sugars and flour.

All of their foods are

  • non-GMO
  • cholesterol free
  • No trans-fats
  • no refined carbs or sugars
  • vegan
  • low calorie
  • made with sustainable ingredients

Their cookies are healthy, oatmeal applesauce based and absolutely delicious! Even though they’re “cookies” they are wholesome and healthy.

ImageThey come in a wide assortment of flavors and easily satisfied my sweet tooth. Each cookie is around 150 calories for the whole cookie and only around 3-6 g of fat. The sugar is also relatively low compared to most vegan cookies on the market!

ImageOf course I sampled the classic chocolate chip flavor first. I loved the texture and the oatmeal makes them much more filling than your regular cookie. Warmed slightly in the microwave (only about 5 seconds) makes the chips melty and the cookie absolutely delicious. As if straight from the oven.

ImageThe double chocolate peanut butter was one of my favorites! (Chocolate and pb= kind of a no-brainer) It was packed with dark chocolate chips and was hearty, only slightly sweet, and mouthwatering. It was perfect after a long day of classes and midterm studying.

ImageThe winner over all for me was probably the trail mix! Or cranberry chip. I loved the vegan white chocolate chips in it, and that’s saying a lot because I’m not usually a white chocolate fan. It paired very well with the dried cranberries and peanut butter in this cookie. I could eat this every day! Seriously delicious.

ImageAnother thing I love about the Ope’s Cookies is the size! Just look at this double chocolate cookie! They’re absolutely delicious and so satisfying. They also aren’t overly sweet like most vegan cookies on the market.

ImageIf you warm them slightly the chocolate melts perfectly and they make the perfect desert. Gooey chocolate perfection. ImageThe oatmeal raisin was the perfect on the go snack between classes. Packed with fiber and healthy carbs it tided me over through a 2 hour lecture before I could grab dinner.

I love supporting health conscious vegan companies and Ope’s is a great company! Started by Lauren Oppenlander, a marathoner who has completed three Ironman Triathalons and one 100-miler Ultramarathon (wowzer!!) and based in Michigan. All of their ingredients are organic, non-GMO, and handmade! Each cookie is made by a member of the Ope’s team and packaged with care. They even offer Gluten Free cookies!

You can order them online and check out their website for great health information! They’re a great price compared to most vegan cookies on the market and I highly recommend you check them out! I know I will definitely be ordering more in the near future! Find out how to order and more about the company here: http://www.opescookies.com/why-choose-opes/
